Hoquiam High School
The Hoquiam High School Anti-Distracted Driving Project
Led by the Hoquiam High School Cheer Team, project managers will assess the extent of the cell phone use and texting problem in Hoquiam with an observational survey of motorists in collaboration with the Washington Traffic Safety Commission and the Hoquiam High School math program. They will proceed with the intervention activities that promote awareness about the emerging problem of distracted driving to incorporate advocacy efforts that involve the high school, the law enforcement community and people who reside in Grays Harbor County. The project will conclude with a follow up observational survey to determine the impact of the project on two major distracted driving behaviors- cell phone use and texting.
